Climbing

Swanage Cliffs

Swanage Cliffs On a warm day its an amazing place to go. Here Sarah (one of the Venture Scouts) is top roping a 40ft VS.

Swanage Caves Chris starting the climb into the cave 'benny', here a life jacket is as important as a helmet.

Cairngorm Dec98

ScotlandDec98

100 metres up on the central gully, Coire an t-sneachda, Cairngorm, Scotland. Photo by Andy Johnstone.

Derbyshire

Derbyshire This is Nigel on his first lead climb (climbing above the rope). It was only graded a 'servere', but the mirrored limestone makes it seem much worse.

Local Sandstone

Sandstone Most of our climbing is done on local sandstone, here I'm on a climb Bowles rocks. The layback is harder than it looks, but who cares when you are on a top rope.

The lake

James James (not me) on scramble in the lakes. Unfortunatly the 'scrabble' turned into an impossible climb that we finished with the aid of head torches at 1:30am.

Scotland Trek

Scotland 1997 There is nothing quite like snow (young or old), this photo was taking just before a solo grade 1 winter climb in the cairngorms winter 2000. It was part of a 4 day trek.
