Petra lives in a home for both phyisically and mentally disabled adults (the state does not
distinquish between the two types of disablities). There an not enough wheel chairs so most of the
week is spent on a board like this.

but you can see the flies crawling over its face.

This was a cupboard in the local town hall, in the red sacks are all the membership forms and cards for the communist party.
The revolution has confined them to the rubbish sacks.

Here one of the volunteers help make a fence to go round a home. The patients kept walking into the road and getting hit by the cars.

Dispite a massive power line system, oil production and lots of
heavy industry including cars and lorries, most goods were exported leaving the locals
to transport everything by cart.
