This package provides an automated method of moving OPC/ESA scheduling data to CA-7. Previous conversion tools have provided only partial conversion, leaving the User too much work to make changing their scheduling package a feasible option. Now, for the first time a OPC/ESA site can seriously consider a conversion.

Features
Fully Exploitation of CA-7 features: The package ensures that all CA-7 facilities are  used to their full potential, these include: optimum trigger structures, full use of job scheduling and calendar rules, best use of predecessor lead times & late message processing. It also uses the virtual resource management, workload balancing and prose areas of the product.

Checking: Several verification programs are provided to monitor job scheduling information both during and after conversion. This includes a final check comparing a CA-7 forecast with an OPC/ESA long term plan report.

Flat File Format: Once the initial data has been extracted from OPC/ESA reports, all scheduling data is held in simple text files. This enables Users to alter the scheduling data before loading it to CA-7 - a useful feature if you do not wish to convert all the applications or you wish to alter application criteria during conversion.

CA-7 Job Name Check: The package will rename any jobs if the name has already been used on CA-7. The User provides the rename rules to ensure the new name follows any site naming conversions.

Source Code Supplied: All programs have been written in interpreted REXX to enable a site to customise the routines if they desire - no code is hidden from the Users. The programs also contain large numbers of comments to aid modification if the a User finds it necessary to alter the scheduling standards used.

Flow Diagram: The package automatically draws a diagram for each application detailing the trigger/predecessor structures created.

For a User:  "…..I can't really say enough about the conversion package as it has proved to be a real gem. Thank you Kyla Computing." Robin Woodgate, Origin UK .
