Taking Better Pictures with James Barry

James Barry (c) 2004

Unfortunately, getting a better camera doesn’t mean your photographs will automatically improve! In fact the truth is that some modern digital cameras are so complex, you can spend more time worrying about the setting and options, than the image you are trying to capture.

So having spent hundreds of pounds, why not spend much less learning how to get the best out of this equipment?

The course will take you through basic photographic theory so you know when you need to worry about shutter speeds, apertures and film speeds and when its better to let the camera guess for you. It also covers the two aspects of photography that can improve your images immeasurably: lighting and composition.

The course is a mix on theory and practical sessions. Time will be given for each student to take reference shots with their own camera after each theory session.
